EPHRAIM, 2. A tribe of Israel
He placed forces in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of EPHRAIM, which Asa his father had taken.
6. He also hired one hundred thousand mighty men of valor out of Israel for one hundred talents of silver.
7. A man of God came to him, saying, "O king, don't let the army of Israel go with you, for the LORD is not with Israel, with all the children of EPHRAIM.
8. For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within sixty-five years EPHRAIM shall be broken in pieces, so that it shall not be a people;
9. and the head of EPHRAIM is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If you will not believe, surely you shall not be established.'"
12. He will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
13. The envy also of EPHRAIM will depart, and those who persecute Judah will be cut off. EPHRAIM won't envy Judah, and Judah won't persecute EPHRAIM.
The fortress shall cease from EPHRAIM, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria. They will be as the glory of the children of Israel," says the LORD of Hosts.
