As he sat in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Jesus and his disciples.

As he passed by, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the tax office, and he said to him,"Follow me." And he arose and followed him.

27. After these things he went out, and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax office, and said to him,"Follow me!"

28. He left everything, and rose up and followed him.

For who is greater, one who sits at the table, or one who serves? Isn't it he who sits at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.
