JEZEBEL, Was an idolatress and persecuted the prophets of God

1 Kings 18:4-19

4. for when JEZEBEL cut off The LORD's prophets, Obadiah took one hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.)
5. Ahab said to Obadiah, "Go through the land, to all the springs of water, and to all the brooks. Perhaps we may find grass and save the horses and mules alive, that we not lose all the animals."
6. So they divided the land between them to pass throughout it. Ahab went one way by himself, and Obadiah went another way by himself.
7. As Obadiah was on the way, behold, Elijah met him. He recognized him, and fell on his face, and said, "Is it you, my lord Elijah?"
8. He answered him, "It is I. Go, tell your lord, 'Behold, Elijah is here!'"
9. He said, "How have I sinned, that you would deliver your servant into the hand of Ahab, to kill me?
10. As the LORD your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom where my lord has not sent to seek you. When they said, 'He is not here,' he took an oath of the kingdom and nation, that they didn't find you.
11. Now you say, 'Go, tell your lord, "Behold, Elijah is here."'
12. It will happen, as soon as I leave you, that The LORD's Spirit will carry you I don't know where; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he can't find you, he will kill me. But I, your servant, have feared the LORD from my youth.
13. Wasn't it told my lord what I did when JEZEBEL killed The LORD's prophets, how I hid one hundred men of The LORD's prophets with fifty to a cave, and fed them with bread and water?
14. Now you say, 'Go, tell your lord, "Behold, Elijah is here".' He will kill me."
15. Elijah said, "As the LORD of Hosts lives, before whom I stand, I will surely show myself to him today."
16. So Obadiah went to meet Ahab, and told him; and Ahab went to meet Elijah.
17. When Ahab saw Elijah, Ahab said to him, "Is that you, you troubler of Israel?"
18. He answered, "I have not troubled Israel; but you, and your father's house, in that you have forsaken The LORD's commandments, and you have followed the Baals.
19. Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel to Mount Carmel, and four hundred fifty of the prophets of Baal, and four hundred of the prophets of the Asherah, who eat at JEZEBEL's table."

2 Kings 3:2-13

2. He did that which was evil in The LORD's sight, but not like his father, and like his mother, for he put away the pillar of Baal that his father had made.
3. Nevertheless he held to the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin. He didn't depart from them.
4. Now Mesha king of Moab was a sheep breeder; and he supplied the king of Israel with the wool of one hundred thousand lambs, and of one hundred thousand rams.
5. But when Ahab was dead, the king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel.
6. King Jehoram went out of Samaria at that time, and mustered all Israel.
7. He went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, "The king of Moab has rebelled against me. Will you go with me against Moab to battle?"He said, "I will go up. I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses."
8. He said, "Which way shall we go up?"He answered, "The way of the wilderness of Edom."
9. So the king of Israel went with the king of Judah and the king of Edom, and they marched for seven days along a circuitous route. There was no water for the army or for the animals that followed them.
10. The king of Israel said, "Alas! For the LORD has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab."
11. But Jehoshaphat said, "Isn't there a prophet of the LORD here, that we may inquire of the LORD by him?"One of the king of Israel's servants answered, "Elisha the son of Shaphat, who poured water on the hands of Elijah, is here."
12. Jehoshaphat said, "The LORD's word is with him." So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.
13. Elisha said to the king of Israel, "What have I to do with you? Go to the prophets of your father, and to the prophets of your mother."The king of Israel said to him, "No, for the LORD has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab."

2 Kings 9:7-22

7. You must strike your master Ahab's house, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of The LORD, at the hand of JEZEBEL.
8. For the whole house of Ahab will perish. I will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall, both him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.
9. I will make Ahab's house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.
10. The dogs will eat JEZEBEL on the plot of ground of Jezreel, and there shall be no one to bury her.'" Then he opened the door and fled.
11. When Jehu came out to the servants of his lord, and one said to him, "Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?"He said to them, "You know the man and how he talks."
12. They said, "That is a lie. Tell us now."He said, "He said to me, 'The LORD says, I have anointed you king over Israel.'"
13. Then they hurried, and each man took his cloak, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew the trumpet, saying, "Jehu is king."
14. So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram was keeping Ramoth Gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria;
15. but king Joram had returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) Jehu said, "If this is your thinking, then let no one escape and go out of the city, to go to tell it in Jezreel."
16. So Jehu rode in a chariot and went to Jezreel, for Joram lay there. Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.
17. Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, "I see a company."Joram said, "Take a horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, 'Is it peace?'"
18. So one went on horseback to meet him, and said, "Thus says the king, 'Is it peace?'"Jehu said, "What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!"The watchman said, "The messenger came to them, but he isn't coming back."
19. Then he sent out a second on horseback, who came to them, and said, "Thus says the king, 'Is it peace?'"Jehu answered, "What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!"
20. The watchman said, "He came to them, and isn't coming back. The driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi, for he drives furiously."
21. Joram said, "Get ready!"They got his chariot ready. Then Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out to meet Jehu, and found him on Naboth the Jezreelite's land.
22. When Joram saw Jehu, he said, "Is it peace, Jehu?"He answered, "What peace, so long as the prostitution of your mother JEZEBEL and her witchcraft abound?"
