MOSES said to Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, MOSES' father-in-law, "We are journeying to the place of which the LORD said, 'I will give it to you.' Come with us, and we will treat you well; for the LORD has spoken good concerning Israel."

1. Hear, Israel! You are to pass over the Jordan today, to go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourself, cities great and fortified up to the sky,

2. a people great and tall, the sons of the Anakim, whom you know, and of whom you have heard say, "Who can stand before the sons of Anak?"

3. Know therefore today, that the LORD your God is he who goes over before you as a devouring fire. He will destroy them, and he will bring them down before you. So you shall drive them out, and make them perish quickly, as the LORD has spoken to you.

23. By faith, MOSES, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw that he was a beautiful child, and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.

24. By faith, MOSES, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter,

25. choosing rather to share ill treatment with God's people, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a time;

26. accounting the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he looked to the reward.

27. By faith, he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

28. By faith, he kept the Passover, and the sprinkling of the blood, that the destroyer of the firstborn should not touch them.
