17. Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall come on them; so that they will say in that day, 'Haven't these evils come on us because our God is not among us?'

18. I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evil which they have done, in that they have turned to other gods.

Therefore the children of Israel can't stand before their enemies. They turn their backs before their enemies, because they have become devoted for destruction. I will not be with you any more, unless you destroy the devoted things from among you.

The Spirit of God came on Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest; and he stood above the people, and said to them, "Thus says God, 'Why do you disobey The LORD's commandments, so that you can't prosper? Because you have forsaken The LORD, he has also forsaken you.'"

Why hide you your face,and hold me for your enemy?

3. Oh that I knew where I might find him!That I might come even to his seat!

4. I would set my cause in order before him,and fill my mouth with arguments.

5. I would know the words which he would answer me,and understand what he would tell me.

6. Would he contend with me in the greatness of his power?No, but he would listen to me.

7. There the upright might reason with him,so I should be delivered forever from my judge.

8. "If I go east, he is not there;if west, I can't find him;

9. He works to the north, but I can't see him.He turns south, but I can't catch a glimpse of him.
