BEREAVEMENT, RESIGNATION IN
22. He said, "While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept; for I said, 'Who knows whether the LORD will not be gracious to me, that the child may live?'
23. But now he is dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me."
18. While he was still speaking, there came also another, and said, "Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother's house,
19. and behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young men, and they are dead. I alone have escaped to tell you."
20. Then Job arose, and tore his robe, and shaved his head, and fell down on the ground, and worshiped.
21. He said, "Naked I came out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return there. the LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be The LORD's name."
2. It is better to go to the house of mourning than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men, and the living should take this to heart.
13. But we don't want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don't grieve like the rest, who have no hope.
